I can't believe that my little guy is five years old! I look at him and marvel at the big boy he is becoming, but he is still my snuggly little Caden bug in so many ways.
Caden, here are 10 things I love about you.
1. You are always wanting and willing to come snuggle in bed with me when I get home from work and an getting ready for bed. It's one of my favorite times because you put ME to bed those mornings.
2. You love books (a trait I know came from me). We catch you up late into the night sitting in your closet "reading" with a pile of books around you and you wake up most monrnings with a book in bed with you.
3. You are very proud of the fact that you are my helper around the house. You help me load the washer, dryer and the dishwasher, set the table, and make the beds. Of all your jobs though, your favorite is getting breakfast ready. You came up with this one on your own with your independant spirit and take pride in being able to get the toaster out, get paper plates, forks and knives and syrup (or jelly depending on your mood) and have everything ready for me to make your breakfast of choice.
4. You love your sister (even though you argue and pick on each other) and are always willing to share your Starburst or Skittles with her (and me!) after Bible class.
5. You have sooo many questions about God and Jesus and challenge me daily to show/explain God to you. I see God in such a different light through your eyes.
6. You are quick to forgive and show affection, something we all could learn from! Luckily we all reap the benefit of your loving spirit!!!
7. You are an absolute CRACK-UP!! You make the funniest faces and do the silliest dances, we are constantly laughing at your crazy antics.
8. You are a GREAT singer (a trait you got from your Daddy). You pick up songs very quickly and love to sing them very loudly. We will randomly hear you singing Christmas tunes or church songs in the bath, in the car, or in your room.
9. You have a wonderful imagination. Especially in the bath or in your room during quiet time or bed time are your favorite times for creative play. It's a hoot to hear the situations and story lines you come up with each day. Currently, your new transformer is a knight on a quest to save princess Dora.
10. You are so tenderhearted, all it takes is a stern look from Momma to break your heart and bring tears to your eyes. For such a tough boy, you are generally easy to discipline and guide into the young man we (and God) want you to be.
This is for you Cade. I love you so much and am so proud of the boy that you are. We have lots of hopes and dreams for you and pray daily for you to fulfill all your dreams as well.
