First Day of School

The first day of school was actually Monday, but I'm a little behind. Cade went back to Lifeway Christian school where he attended last year and Keira started real preschool at Kingdom Kids. I also started back to school - ugh!! I have Calculus and Cell Biology this semester - not my favorites (well mainly I just hate calculus) Here's a few pics from our morning.
In the car ready for school!!

My little Goober refused to give me a good smile, he was ready to get to school and

see his friends so he had a major case of the sillies.

In his class ready to learn!!!

There are Willis's everywhere!!

Caden was a little surprised when he realized that there are more people out there with the name Willis, especially his cousin. Although I'd told him many times that his middle name came from my side of the family, it really hit home this trip. He kept saying, "I'm a Willis too!!" or "Hey, that's my name!" Here's a peek at the fun we had with Grandma and Grandpa Willis, Trevis, Nicole, Parker and Lillie.

Partying at a Loons baseball game

(Midland now has a minor league baseball team. Can you believe it??)

Dinner at a great Irish restaurant at Newport on the Levy

Opening birthday present and loving on her new baby doll. Lillie is a great Mommy and taught Keira how to take care of babies.

Yummy pizza from The Snappy Tomato (I think!)

Fun with sparklers at Greatma and Greatpa's house

It's great to have a cousin to love!! Thanks for the great picture Nicole!!

Dow Gardens

We had a great first day in Midland. I had forgotten how much I loved Midland - in the summer that is. It was a cool 75-80 degrees this evening, perfect for a walk and photo shoot at Dow Gardens. The kids had a great time roaming and exploring the walks and secret paths.

Fun at the Grubbs

We're finally on vacation!!!! This is our first whole family vacation in quite a while, but it started out as just a Curt and kids vacation. Curt and the kids headed to Terre Haute on Friday but since I had to work all weekend, I flew up and met them in Indy on Sunday. Here's a few pictures of their fun in Indiana.

Birthday celebration (we plan on celebrating at everyone's house during vacation.)

Boating on Beaver Lake

On Saturday, we went in with several of our friends to rent a pontoon boat on Beaver Lake. We had the boat for 4 hours and had sooo much fun. It was a perfect day and the water was nice and warm. It was the first time for the kids to be on a boat and they loved it!! We've decided that it would be nice to have a boat SOMEDAY!!

There was a small island in the middle of Beaver Lake that we drove to for lunch and swimming. The kids loved exploring the island. We found a great tree with huge exposed roots that was a perfect photo shoot. Too bad the kids wanted to play instead of smile! It took lots of cajoling and Curt being very silly to get these grins, but they were worth it!!!

Caden and Keira were both daredevils. Cade loved jumping off the boat into the water. Keira loved it too...at first. She was done after about 3 jumps though and just wanted to play with the rocks.

"It's been an exciting day, but I'm going to sleep!"
Keira fell asleep standing up while we were driving back to the marina. She really is just like her Aunt Margaret!!
