I thought Keira looked so much like Hannah Reed in this pic I couldn't resist posting it. I know it's just the hat, but not every little girl could pull it off like they can.

Ballerina Class

Keira started dance class last week at the Fitness Center. I think it was quite possible the cutest thing I've ever seen. Her class is ballet/tap for 3-4 year olds. They do ballet for about 25 min then tap for the rest of the class. In May they'll have a recital with all the classes for all different ages at a big auditorium in the area. I'm sooooo excited - I think I've been waiting for her to take dance classes since I found out I was having a girl! Luckily, she thinks it's pretty cool too. She loves her "ballerina class" and "ballerina dress" and "ballerina shoes." It's ballerina everything at our house these days.

This is Keira before class. She was too excited, she didn't want to stand still, she just wanted to dance and sway so it was hard to get a good picture.

Angels among us

This morning we were watching the kids favorite show, The Backyardigans. It was the Samurai Pie episode, one of my favorites (I know, I know...you don't have to say it!)
Keira was feeling especially snuggly (she always is these days) and was sitting on my lap.

Me: "Keira, are you a ninja?"

Keira: "No."

Me: "Are you a samurai?"

Keira: No" Rather emphatically with a shake of her head.

Me: "Well, then what are you?"

Keira: "I an angel!!" Said with the cutest little grin and then she sweetly laid her head on my shoulder.

She truly is my little angel. I couldn't imagine life without you Keira!!

New pics!

I wasn't able to get any pics up last weekend for our fun in the Rock, so here they are.

It was the perfect day to wander the River market. On Saturday mornings they have a famers market and lots of booths set up by independant crafters. There were lots of cute homemade jewelry. Keira and I both got beautiful new rings...very cool. Unfortunately, I have no pics of our pretty rings. Just imagine beautiful silver rings with colorful beads...blue for me and pink for the princess.



Cade and Keira were fascinated by the huge fish in this pond. They wanted to take one home, but it was a no go. Luckily they are smart enough to realize a fish wouldn't survive too well at our house!

There's a neat playground near the River Market that had lots of places for climbing boulders, nets, tunnels and slides. There was also a little splash park for the kids to run around in.



I'm not very adventurous during the week when I'm in school (yes, I'm very boring and study most of the time) but I'm finding lots of fun stuff to do when the fam is here!

I survived!!

I had my first pharmacy school test and I am pleasantly surprised to tell you...I survived it. It was rough and I studied WAY MORE than I've ever studied for any test except the PCAT but I feel pretty good about it. Now, my biochem test I have coming up on Monday...not so good. Curt and the kids came here this weekend so I could have a little more study time instead of wasting 6 hours driving. That was very helpful, but I spent all last week prepping for the A&P test and now only have 1 more day to study, study, study!!

In other news, we've had a GREAT weekend here. Since Hurricane Gustav has moved on and the rain has moved out, we had a great warm sunny weekend. We wandered around the River Market and enjoyed the museum of Discovery today. It's just great to be together. I knew I'd miss the kids and Curt tons, but it's really hit me more and more how much I miss them when I see them every weekend. They are adjusting just fine. It's harder on Curt and I than them! Thank goodness for the encouragement from friends because last weekend I was ready to not come back to school! To all of you who have sent me cards and email...I appreciate it!!! It really keeps my spirit up to know I have so many people praying for me and confident of my ability to not only do this, but to do it WELL! I have the best friends and family EVER!!!
