Say what??

Yesterday, we were getting into the car and Cade had just shown me some pennies he had found on the ground. In the meantime, Curt noticed Cade wasn't exactly making the best choice about getting in to the car.

Curt said to Cade, "C'mon, Cade, use some sense."

Cade replied: "I'm not going to use it, Dad, I'm going to put it in the bank!"

Curt was completely puzzled by that remark, and it took me a second to realize that Cade was confusing sense with cents!! Curt and I had a good laugh at that one and an English lesson followed with Cade learning what common sense is. We are constantly reminded that Cade is growing and learning every moment of every day. We have so much fun with our sweet almost 6 year old boy!!

I feel much too young to be this old...

Curt, Lonnie and I all turned 30 within a month of each other, so Margie planned an AWESOME party for us. Sixeen of us got together to celebrate with dinner at Carino's followed by bowling and laser tag. It was sooo much fun to goof off and act like kids for an evening. Almost all of us have kids of our own and it was great to have the night off to be kids ourselves!!

What are those crazy guys up to???

We may be 30, but we look GOOD!!!

I love my sis sooo much. Words can't express how grateful I am for her!

We played laser tag at the end of the night. We thought it was going to be just our group in the room, but as we were getting ready, a group of 10 year olds came in. All I could think was "Great, I'm going to run over a 10 year old on my 30th birthday." Then, they started trash talking to Shad especially...I believe they called him Fredericka - who knows??!! Then they asked where his cane was. The game was on! Of course, one of them had a crazy mom who may or may not have had a few too many drinks. The kids are trash talking us and she's asking us to take it easy on them, because they're only kids. Of course, we killed them, it wasn't even a competition. They were just sitting ducks for our mad skills!! I think the final score was 5400 to 150. We were relatively sweet and tried to teach them how the game worked, but it was too little too late. Afterward, we were outside talking about the whole game when crazy mom had the audacity to come up to us saying, "Yeah, great game. You really did a great job at beating a group of 10 year olds." Like we had challenged them to a game on purpose!! Please, if I become a crazy mom like that...I hope all of you out there will remind me of this moment and keep me from acting too crazy!!
